Nightwing is seeking to hire an experienced Data Flow Engineer to develop data and file transfer mechanisms. The engineer will collaborate with team members to develop and deploy distributed network architectures, create network diagrams, recommend hardware and software solutions, and implement network monitoring.

The engineer will assist the design and deployment of new distributed networks and modernization of existing networks.

The engineer will be expected to work alone or with small teams, interacting directly with installers and end users in a fast-paced dynamic environment.

Flexibility is essential and the engineer must be willing to work on a wide variety of tasks, either leveraging experience or learning new technologies quickly.

The data flow engineer will develop and occasionally present well-written reports.

Required Knowledge and Skills :

  • An active TS / SCI with FS Polygraph is required
  • Must have 5 years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a similar field of study
  • Minimum two years of experience administering Linux and Microsoft Windows server and desktop operating systems
  • Experience with maintenance and troubleshooting on a small to medium-sized network
  • Understanding of network security practices
  • Experience implementing virtual environments
  • Experience creating, maintaining, and updating network documentation, diagrams and security documentation
  • Five years of experience in data flow operations
  • Experience in networking, network architecture, OSI model, protocols and concepts to include VPN, firewalls, gateways, TCP / IP, DNS, FTP, SFTP, SSH, and IPSEC
  • Experience conducting system integration of mission systems for field deployment and testing

Desired Knowledge and Skills :

  • Knowledge of virtualization platforms and technologies (VMware)
  • Writing and maintaining PowerShell scripts
  • SQL and one or more shell scripting languages (e.g. PowerShell, Python, Perl, etc.)
  • Microsoft SQL Server database administration
  • Small to medium network design and implementation
  • Cisco network device administration (e.g. ISRs, Catalyst switches, ASA / FirePower, etc.)
  • Microsoft Visio
  • Amazon Web Services
  • Administering Microsoft SCCM, WDS and WSUS severs
  • Professional certification(s) (CompTIA, Cisco, VMware, Microsoft, etc.)
  • Able to lift and carry test equipment, network and computer devices up to 40 lbs.
  • Communications Security (COMSEC)
  • Information Security (INFOSEC)
  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or similar field of study

An active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.

S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Required Education and Experience :

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws / regulations.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.

RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education / training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and / or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and / or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
