Overview

The Business Relationship Manager (BRM) serves as the interface between the Business Function, and IT. As a contact point for Business Function leadership and stakeholders, the BRM will act as a conduit for their interests and objectives, while equally serving as a channel of engagement and communications from IT.

The BRM helps business leaders identify and formulate technology initiatives, proposals and business cases to achieve their objectives.

While at the same time maintaining alignment with the IT environment and strategy by creating awareness and understanding of current and future technological capabilities.

The BRM understands current and emerging critical Business Function objectives, and communicates needs to relevant IT development, delivery and support teams.

He or she also deeply understands and communicates BBG’s IT Strategy, application portfolio, catalog of IT services and technical capabilities to the Business Function to ensure BBG fully leverages investments in technology solutions.

The BRM coordinates IT demand across the business with other BRMs to develop a single integrated project portfolio spanning all BBG functions.

The BRM role reaches beyond projects by maintaining focus on overall IT performance and acts as an escalation path for issues that are not being fully resolved in line with the relevant Service Level Agreement (SLA).

This position operates in hybrid capacity, two days in the office and three days from home.

Responsibilities

Establish and maintain relationships with all IT functions, the functional Business Function’s leadership team, key executives and other stakeholders.

Regularly engage with these teams to validate IT’s role to identify and establish the best possible set of initiatives and projects aligned with the Business Function’s priorities, goals and objectives.

  • Prepares, coordinates materials and proactively facilitates conversations with the Business Function to foster an understanding of the goals, objectives, challenges, and alerting them to opportunities for applying technology solutions to challenges arising in their areas.
  • Manages the yearly strategic project lifecycle with the Business Function. Partners with them to ensure strategic projects are defined with a clear business cases, including a complete Cost Benefit Analysis with a measurable Return on Investment.

As part of that lifecycle, the BRM develops and maintains a single, integrated technology project portfolio approved and prioritized by the BTST annually and reviewed and amended quarterly by the BTST.

Accomplishes strategic and financial objectives by functioning as an effective advocate of how Information Technology capabilities can be best utilized within the Business Function.

The outcome being the most important priorities are well represented and effectively managed concerning cost, schedule, and performance.

  • Collaborates with internal and external customers to ensure that projects, systems, and enhancements are evaluated and can be delivered in an efficient and effective manner with agreed upon expectations.
  • Identify and suggest reviews of any significant Business Function initiatives or projects that are challenged. This will help determine whether they should continue, be significantly changed, placed on hold, or discontinued.
  • Measures, tracks, and reports on value realization, performance metrics, and customer satisfaction relative to technology projects delivered and subsequent performance and effectiveness of those technology investments.
  • Work with other BBG IT BRMs to identify enterprise-wide efficiencies and synergistic opportunities to support BBG wide BRM team strategy.
  • Other duties, as assigned by the jobholder’s supervisor, may also be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field.
  • 5 years of experience of increasing levels of responsibility managing information technology.
  • Demonstrated capabilities in leading and managing information technology teams.
  • Proficient PC skills using MS Office and other various computer systems, including Office 365.
  • Ability to manage complex business issues, identify root causes to issues and actively resolve problems, leveraging cross-functional business partnerships.
  • Comfortable driving change and embracing innovation in complex, ambiguous environment.
  • Must be a result oriented professional with excellent verbal / written communication skills using diplomacy and discretion as well as strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently and / or within a team, pays attention to detail and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Wholesale distribution background.
  • Experience with SAP, or a similar enterprise-wide ERP system.
  • BRMP or CBRM certifications.

Physical Requirements :

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone.
