System Engineer (TS / SCI+FSP Required)
Location : Laurel, Maryland Job Type : Full-Time
What We’re Looking For
As a System Engineer at CyberPoint, you will provide support for customer networks involving cross-domain solutions, including VPNs, one-way data transfers, unclassified mission-related infrastructures, and Taclane 175 encryption devices.
Responsibilities will include :
- Configure and troubleshoot Cisco catalyst switches for spanning tree, port security, VTP, Ether channels, and VLANs.
- Configure and troubleshoot ASR routers, including HSRP, OSPF, BP, and route-map.
- Configure and troubleshoot Cisco ASA firewalls.
- Troubleshoot various DNS, SMTP, IP routing, latency, and connectivity issues.
- Implement TCP / IP and related services, including DHCP and DNS.
- Install and upgrade Cisco switches and firewalls (ASA) IOS using TFTP.
- Maintain all LAN / WAN connectivity.
Qualifications
What You’ll Need :
- Active TS / SCI with FS polygraph.
- BS in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
- 5 years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
- Fourteen (14) years experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
- IAT II certification.
- Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP / IP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, VPLS, etc.).
- Experience with Cisco networking equipment (switches, routers, firewalls).
- Proficiency in network configuration, troubleshooting, and optimization.
- Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards.
- Familiar with Linux network troubleshooting tools (tcpdump, ssldump, curl, wget, tcp tracroute, openssl, etc.).
- Experience with Tier 3 on-call / after-hours support.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
