Nurse Clinical Manager II - Full Time - Department of Surgery, DC.-(240001RK)

Description

The Clinical Manager II will participate to plan, implement, manage and evaluate service / department activities for Children's National Medical Center in accordance with accepted national standards and administrative policies.

All nursing practice is based on the legal scope of practice, national and specialty nursing standards, CNMC Policies and Procedures, and in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations.

The Professional Model of Care requires registered professional nurses to be responsible and accountable for their own practice.

CNMC supports the development of RN relationships within the community; specifically those relationships associated with the health and well being of the community at large.

Qualifications

Minimum Education

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Required)

Minimum Work Experience

5 years related and progressive nursing experience. Health care experience preferred. At least 1 year of supervisory experience required. (Required)

Functional Accountabilities

Program Administration

  • Implement strategic plan through management of day-to-day operations of department / service area; troubleshoot operational issues and develop action plans to resolve.
  • Collaborate with Director on significant operational issues / barriers.
  • Assist Director to develop, implement and evaluate services, programs, policies and procedures, and performance standards to achieve departmental goals.

Professional Practice

  • Participate in Shared Leadership.
  • Contribute to CNMC’s Magnet Journey.
  • Ensure nursing practice is based on evidence of best practice.
  • Accountable to participate in the Division of Nursing’s Performance Improvement process (division or unit level).
  • Participate in community activities.
