Senior Electrical Engineer
We are an engineering, design and construction firm specializing in commercial facility improvements, focusing on energy efficiency and building safety.
We are growing and looking to add a dedicated Senior Electrical Engineer to our team. We are looking for someone that has a deep understanding of electrical design, ensuring projects are correctly completed at the highest quality.
The following information provides an overview of the skills, qualities, and qualifications needed for this role.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop electrical designs for a variety of building types (commercial, public and private clients).
- Collaborate with the project team to ensure that building electrical designs are clear, complete, and feasible.
- Review and approve electrical submittals and shop drawings.
- Develop and maintain project documentation, including electrical plans, specifications, and other project-related documents.
- Ensure that all electrical work is performed in compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and safety requirements.
- Coordinate and communicate regularly with project stakeholders, including clients, design team, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and manufacturers to stay up-to-date on new technologies and products.
- Provide technical guidance and support to other members of the project team as needed.
Qualifications :
- Associate degree or a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
- PE valid in the state of Kansas.
- 5+ years of experience in electrical design for commercial and industrial projects.
- Strong understanding of electrical design principles and practices, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm systems, and building automation systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications.
- Proficient in lighting design / control.
- Experience in NEC, Revit, generator system design, Bluebeam Revu and Studio.
- Experience in energy modeling of building systems.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of electrical codes and regulations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license.
