About The Position
Weekly Pay Range - $2029 To $2254 Job Title : Respiratory Therapist Job Specialty : Respiratory Therapy Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 12-hour days Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Experience : License : Current Respiratory Care Practitioner License in the state of Illinois Certifications : Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board of Respiratory Care, Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Must-Have : Successful completion of a respiratory therapy program from an accredited school- National Board of Respiratory Care credentials- Basic electronic medical record documentation skills- Ability to produce a negative drug screen for all panels Job Description : Provide respiratory therapy as ordered by the prescribing healthcare professional to patients of all ages, with an advanced focus on the adult population.
- Administer medical gases, medications, airway clearance, and mechanical ventilation.- Monitor levels of supplies and equipment for department and patient care areas.
- Apply theoretical knowledge to the care of pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients, demonstrating competence in respiratory skills, problem-solving, and critical thinking.
- Perform life-sustaining interventions during emergent situations, including rapid response calls and critical alerts, under the direction of a licensed provider.
- Manage mechanical ventilation, including advanced modes, independently.- Administer specialty medical gases, including Nitrogen, Heliox, and Nitric Oxide.
- Assess patients to evaluate therapy effectiveness and recommend changes based on patient response.- Document interventions and responses in accordance with regulatory requirements and guidelines.
- Participate in rounds with the interdisciplinary team in intensive and intermediate care units.- Maintain compliance with established policies and procedures of the healthcare system.
- Adhere to the Corporate Philosophy, Values, Mission, and Vision of the organization.- Physical requirements include lifting objects up to 60 pounds, standing for extended periods, and manual dexterity for equipment handling.
