SENIOR AUDIT ASSOCIATE
Job Overview : As a Senior Audit Associate, you will lead audit engagements, manage audit teams, and ensure the successful completion of audit assignments.
You will work closely with clients and the audit team to identify potential risks, assess financial data, and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS).
Your role will involve performing more complex audit procedures, mentoring junior team members, and providing critical insights to management.
Responsibilities :
Lead audit engagements from planning through completion for clients across various industries.
Supervise and review the work of junior associates, ensuring accuracy and completeness of audit documentation.
Assist in the development of audit strategies, risk assessments, and audit plans in collaboration with audit managers and partners.
Ensure that audit work adheres to the firm's quality standards, and that documentation meets professional guidelines.
Perform complex and high-risk areas of audits such as revenue recognition, asset valuation, liabilities, and internal control evaluations.
Identify and evaluate key risk areas and provide recommendations for process improvements to clients.
Execute substantive testing and assess internal controls for compliance with SOX, GAAP, IFRS, and other regulatory frameworks.
Review and analyze financial statements and supporting documents to ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards.
Assist in drafting audit reports and communicate significant issues to the audit manager and client management.
Address client concerns and provide technical accounting guidance where needed.
Train, mentor, and provide feedback to junior audit associates to enhance their technical skills and audit knowledge.
Ensure that audit procedures comply with relevant regulatory requirements (GAAP, IFRS, SEC) and internal quality standards.
Manage multiple audit engagements concurrently, ensuring that budgets, timelines, and client expectations are met.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA designation is preferred, but not required.
2+ years of experience in auditing, with progressive responsibility in a public accounting environment.
Advanced knowledge of accounting principles and audit procedures (GAAP, IFRS, PCAOB standards).
Experience with accounting and / or audit software
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
