Job Description Summary

CHASE, the Center for Health AI and Synthesis of Evidence, within the Department of Biostatistics, Epidemiology and Informatics, is seeking a project manager.

The candidate is expected to manage various projects and facilitate program activities within a fast-paced and ever-growing research group.

Job Responsibilities

Manage extramural funding and center activities. Create and maintain a set of standard operating procedures for the center.

Monitor and report on progress of multiple research projects. Develop, implement and manage work plans and time-frames in order to ensure project goals.

  • Responsible for IRB submissions, correspondence and regulatory compliance and tracking.
  • Draft progress reports for extramural funding as well as presentation preparation for grant program officers.
  • Serve as a liaison between the center, the principal investigator (PI), departmental grants managers, and extramural funding agencies.

Attend some collaborative research meetings on behalf of the center PI.

  • Coordinate lab and research study meetings, retreats, and small conferences related to the center.
  • Facilitate clear communication among center personnel regarding research project progress and deadlines.
  • Coordinate and manage the execution of data use agreements and subcontracts on conjunction with departmental grants managers.

Assist center and collaborators with access to data.

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Excellent organizational skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and EndNote, calendar management, project and program management, as well as IRB submission required.

Experience submitting data use agreements and federally-funded progress reports is highly desirable. Proven experience working in a biomedical, academic environment is also highly desirable.

Must demonstrate excellent communication skills and highly professional interpersonal style, with flexibility and effectiveness working with diverse groups of people.

Ability to work under pressure, with limited supervision, and confidence to exercise independent judgment. Highly organized, meticulous, and flexible;

ability to manage time and willingness to work with changing deadlines; ability to prioritize work.

Position is contingent upon continued funding.
