Position Summary
The consultant will work directly with the Senior Technical Researcher to draft applications for funding to promote inclusive education for the Deaf community in Kurdistan, Iraq.
Summary of Tasks
- Conduct a literature review related to Deaf education, creation of sign language dictionaries, and other related topics;
- Contribute to drafting proposal(s) to create a sign language dictionary in partnership with the Deaf community in Kurdistan, Iraq; and
- Other key outputs as agreed upon with the Senior Technical Researcher.
Skills and Qualifications
- Master’s degree or equivalent required.
- Ability to act as an interpreter for Deaf collaborators.
- Familiarity with the Middle East and North Africa region, specifically Iraq is a plus.
Term
This role will be an at-will consultancy. Length of the performance period and weekly hour allocations will be determined with the selected candidate, based on their availability.
