Title : IT Project Manager (Hybrid)

Location : Maple Grove, MN

Duration : 7 Months (with possibility for extensions)

Hybrid role - must be in office 3 days a week (M,W,F in office & T, TH from home)

Description

This nonexempt position will develop, execute and manage IT projects within the defined scope.

Works with business and IT management to establish project goals, objectives and deliverables.

Assess the degree to which changes to scope, issues and risks will affect projects working with department, management and sponsor to gain agreement for resolution.

Measure performance to ensure the project is progressing as compared to the original plan and budget.

Develops and executes a work plan obtaining authorized resources to ensure all activities are performed.

Gather lessons learned and obtain final project approval from the sponsor and stakeholders.

Communicate project progress by producing project reports to provide timely and accurate project status and decision support information to the Project Team and Department manager.

Coordinate resources to ensure project needs are addressed and effectively assign tasks and deliverables to team members based upon their abilities.

Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.

At the department level or provides assistance to Program or Project managers on phases of a larger project.

Make decisions that impact project-level activities.

Influence project-level budget.

Education and Experience :

Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science or related discipline.

At least 3 yrs. experience in project management, business systems analysis, or software development.

Tactical day-to-day position for someone with 10 to 15 years experience as IT Project Manager

o This is a mid-level to position so anyone who is a Sr. IT Project Manager, Director, or Program Manager are overqualified

o This is not a scum master position

Software technical ability beyond the typical project manager

able to understand MS Azure, IT networking, security, processes, procedures, and evaluate technical requests

Strong speaking / writing / soft / interpersonal skills

o Position is customer-facing, must be able to communicate clearly, effectively and properly to clients

o Must be highly organized

o Must be able to professionally handle conflict and identify resolutions acceptable to all parties

1. Position is relationship based and in-person contact with the broader team in the office is critical

2. We are not able to convert remote contractors to FTE's

3. Position will contain frequent whiteboard sessions in office, physical presence is required for such meetings to be fruitful.

Supporting Pacemaker Software

Must Haves :

IT Software project management in a waterfall setting

  • need to be a leader, proactive Software delivery projects
  • must be computer IT related, building new computer systems

Not looking for scum master experience

15 years IT project management projects

does not want to see more experience than this (20+ years will be considered overqualified)

Mid-Level project management role

running day-to-day operations

Check to see if candidates have IT Project Management experience starting in 2010

Good step up for candidates who have done smaller projects

Consistent IT Project Management experience

Consistent job titles

Infrastructure systems experience in IT setting (software-based)

Highly interpersonal role

Purpose of this Role & Key Requirements / Day to Day life :

Looking for someone to primarily manage a business unit in California with four program managers. They need interpersonal soft abilities to develop relationships, and they are looking for actual IT Project Managers who report to the program manager.

Will be supporting BU in CA

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills leading a lot of remote meetings, back and forth between emails, Teams chats, etc.

Critical thinking skills - Moving med device software to the cloud experienced and able to move the pieces and take next steps

Interpersonal skills position requires relationship-building skills

Does not need to be highly technical Azure experience nice to have, not required

No scrum masters position is a Waterfall PM role
