Medical Assistant (New Albany)

A client in the New Albany, IN area is looking for a Medical Assistant to join their team for 6-month contact to hire opportunity. This person will be responsible for accompanying and settling patients in the exam room in advance of the physicians visit following taking initial vitals such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, weight, and height and enters them into the EMR. Theyll be performing necessary office tests, such as rapid strep tests and smell tests as requested by the physician and document results in the patients record. Drawing blood specimens from patients to prepare and label the specimens for the laboratory, and ensuring appropriate lab is used based on patients insurance plan. Theyll also be updating the provider which patient should be seen next to minimize wait time when multiple rooms are filled up. Patient timeliness and appointment time must be taken into consideration to avoid upset patient(s). Lastly, this person will be responsible for cleaning and preparing rooms in a timely manner for the next patient. Based on experience, the pay ranges from $19hr-$23hr.
