Role Summary

MetLife Investments is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to enhance the technical delivery of MetLife Investment's Cloud Solutions for the Investments Projections and Planning platform.

The ideal candidate will possess strong development and engineering capabilities, communication, collaboration, with hands-on experience implementing Investments and Finance data domains by enabling continuous delivery techniques within cloud infrastructure.

Solid understanding of best practices and developer enablement required.

Provides technical expertise for product teams that are building foundational solutions using Azure Cloud platform. Collaborates with the product line architect to review solution design and roadmap.

Enables product delivery through hands-on development and in collaboration with developers, analysts, and business to build fully vetted products that ensures that new capabilities are implemented according to enterprise standards enabling enterprise caliber cloud data platforms.

Proven experience implementing strategic system and architecture plans.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Full Stack Software Engineer works with the product teams to solution architect and build the Investments Projections and Planning platform covering multiple asset classes (public fixed income, equity, private placements, alternatives, real estate, derivatives, etc.

and data domains (asset, party, mandates, positions, transactions, investment performance, ratings, etc.) by leveraging best suited services in the Microsoft reference cloud architecture.

Solution should put emphasis on operational aspects for specific asset sectors and data domains including data quality monitoring and trend analysis.

He / She needs to have a passion for Agile DevSecOps enabled software development, infrastructure automation, and enabling end to end pipeline to accelerate the team's delivery of business value.

The ideal candidate for this role needs to have extensive software development experience on Microsoft Azure, who understands the problems across Dev, Sec and Ops for a highly regulated business environment with a security and compliance mindset.

Will assist in the design, development, and automation of a cloud native development and delivery value stream.

Position Requirements

Skills :

  • 7-10 years of experience
  • Software development preferably in implementing Angular, .Net and Azure solutions (ex. Azure Service Bus, Azure Services)
  • Database skills, Object Oriented Programming, Design Patterns, and development knowledge.
  • API-driven solution stack, data processing, reactive architecture
  • DevOps pipelines, and / or Infrastructure automation
  • 3-5 years' experience in design and development of the User Interface and Investments / Asset Management data warehouse and reporting capabilities using Azure Cloud services.
  • 3-5 years working on Microsoft Azure
  • Azure Cloud experience with Cloud native development as well as migration of existing applications.
  • Hands-on development and implementation experience in .Net, Angular, Azure Data Factory, Azure App services and Azure Service Bus.
  • Working knowledge of Power BI, Power Apps
  • Continuous Integration and Deployment (GitHub or Azure DevOps preferred)
  • Infrastructure Automation (Terraform preferred)
  • Container Creation and Orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • E2E test automation
  • Creation of architectural specifications, ensuring feasibility, functionality, and integration with existing systems / platforms.
  • Proven experience in guiding, and mentoring team members in architecting, designing, and planning out complex technical implementations.
  • Leading the collection and documentation of user requirements as well as the development of user stories and estimates into technology solutions for product features, in collaboration with Product Owner / Manager
  • Creation of detailed technical design and development of applications using Azure Cloud services.
  • Responsible for prioritizing problems, incidents, and service requests and managing process with Product Owner.
  • Champions Agile and DevSecOps adoption by driving product team to move forward on the Agile Maturity Journey
  • Understanding of Microservices architecture and designing and implementing RESTful APIs
  • Sounds understanding of data processing fundamentals, data warehouse concepts and best practices.
  • Full stack engineer with ability to write object-oriented, self-documenting, maintainable code.

Experience around information security, risk, PII, SOX and legal compliance requirements.
