A Brief Overview
Implements communication strategies and tactics, and messages from leadership for the region, for specific audiences of employees, leadership and governance. Serve as the local resource for implementation of communications and public relations duties. A successful Partner achieves communication goals and objectives of assigned department while managing resources effectively for both corporate / organizational communications and local communications.
What you will do
Create strategic content plans and write ongoing communications for regional leadership, including ongoing leader and employee communications.
Assist with governance / board of directors communications as outlined by regional leadership.
Serve as the lead writer / communication advisor for senior leadership team in region. Work with key stakeholders including regional leaders and mission, human resources, hospital quality and foundation leaders.
Implement communication plans to meet the priorities for local facility and maintain positive working relationships with region. Develop and manage regular communication vehicles such as facility newsletters, daily lineup, intranet, email list serves and special letters or notices.
Coordinate and cover a variety of television, radio and newspaper interviews and story pitches. This includes crisis communication needs with media as they arise.
Plan and implement employee forums in collaboration with regional leadership. Write strategic corporate communication plans for internal audiences and manage communication projects. Communicate and maintain local culture and Avera mission.
Work with Director of Community Partnerships on implementing strategies for donations and sponsorships.
Manage presence in social networking sites including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and other similar community sites, posting on relevant blogs, reputation management and seeding content into social applications as needed.
Maintain a content editorial calendar to manage content and plan specific, timely communications and public relations.

Required Education, License / Certification, or Work Experience :
Bachelor's in Journalism, Marketing, Communications / English / Education or related field.
Preferred Education, License / Certification, or Work Experience :
4-6 years Related experience
1-3 years Health care industry experience
