What You'll Do

ECS Limited is offering a unique opportunity for a talented and certified Construction Engineering Inspector / Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Senior Field Technician to join our Dallas team .

In this role, you'll continue to collaborate and develop with experienced project management professionals to safely perform a variety of tasks in F ield S ervices department.

Responsibilities

Field Activities : Perform observation, testing, sampling, and inspection of materials, including soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel placement on construction sites;

Execute tasks based on project requirements under the guidance of other senior technicians, staff professionals, and project managers.

  • Testing Procedures : Conduct routine field tests for soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel placement using various methodologies and testing equipment following industry standards and compliance.
  • Data Collection : Perform calculations and data reduction based on sampling, test results, and inspections; Engage in drafting and other administrative duties as required;

Develop skills in documentation and prepare field reports that document site observations for field work performed.

Communication : Maintain daily communication with site contractors, other technicians, and project managers; Keep supervisor and project teams informed of changing site conditions and additional testing requested;

Attend project meetings with senior staff as requested.

Training and Development : Receive training in ECS methodology for project observations, inspections, and testing; Document findings with precision in accordance with accepted engineering practices.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of related experience.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Must have and be willing to maintain current basic level certifications and be willing to obtain an additional 2 advanced certifications.
  • OSHA 10 is a plus.
  • Position requires carrying 40 - 70 lbs multiple times a day or occasionally lifting 85 lbs to waist height.
  • Must have valid driver's license and insurance.
  • Must provide suitable transportation for use on job sites - Mileage will be reimbursed.
  • Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing).
  • Excellent understanding of heavy construction safety, practices, and procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively with clients, peers, and supervisors.
  • Proficiency with electronic devices such as phones, tablets, and laptops.
  • Strong math skills with the ability to read maps, follow directions, and interpret engineering and construction plans.
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office.
