Oncology Nurse Navigator (RN)

Employment Type : Full timeShift : Day ShiftDescription : Oncology Nurse Navigator for a busy Urology office.Position Purpose : The Nurse Navigator is responsible for the navigation, development, and coordination of surgical patients referred to the surgery services (specifically general surgery and general surgery subspecialties).

The ideal candidate will display a drive to provide patient-centered experiences through scholarly scientific inquiry, compassion for the human spirit and mind, advocacy and education for the patient and families, and collaboration with all those who touch our patients.

Locations will be : Bloomfield and Enfield.What you will do : Coordinating care for patients among general surgery, surgical oncology, bariatric, minimally invasive, and robotic surgical services among the multi-specially surgeons end providers, in order to streamline comprehensive surgical care for each patientCommunicates effectively (written and verbal) with colleagues, patients and family membersEducate patients and family members so that they have a transparent understanding of the care being provided.

Understanding of computer-based applications (E-MAR, clinical documentation), email, and standard applications such as Microsoft Office.

Collaborates with required services, including radiology, pathology, laboratory, and primary care & referring offices etc to provide seamless care for patientsMinimum Qualifications : Education : Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.

Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) degreeLicensure : Current licensure as a registered nurse (RN) in ConnecticutExperience : 3 years of practical experience in surgical nursing and familiarity with new trends and practices in the surgery, including minimally invasive surgery and robotic surgery.
