Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled CDL Driver and Operator with a valid CDL License and experience operating heavy equipment to join our landscape and delivery team.

Responsibilities
- Material Handling : Deliver and pick up construction and plant materials throughout Madison and surrounding areas.
- Load Management : Organize and load / unload products, equipment, and materials onto trucks for delivery, ensuring load safety and accuracy.
- Vehicle Operation : Safely and courteously operate assigned vehicles, including dump trucks, flatbeds, vans, spider trucks, tree spades, and tractor-trailers.
- Equipment Use : Operate equipment such as loaders, skid steers, Bobcats, and forklifts for loading / unloading tasks.
- Inspection and Maintenance : Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintenance.
- Record Keeping : Maintain accurate records for trips, vehicle maintenance, fuel purchases, incidents, accidents, and other required documentation.
- Snow Removal : Assist with snow removal during winter months.
- Policy Adherence : Follow company policies, safety procedures, and complete assigned tasks diligently.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Outdoor Work : Perform work primarily outdoors in all seasons, with exposure to various weather conditions.
- Noise Level : Work in environments with moderate noise levels; hearing protection required for certain tasks.
- Chemical Exposure : Potential exposure to chemicals and fertilizers.
Schedule
- Full-Time Seasonal Position : Typical hours are Monday through Friday, 6 : 30 am to 5 : 00 pm (40-55 hours / week) during peak season (April to November), with Saturday hours as needed.
- Winter Schedule : Hours vary in winter months (December through March) based on snow removal needs.
- Overtime : Overtime may be required based on workload.
Skills and Qualifications
- Licensing : Valid Class A commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a good driving record.
- Certification : Current federal DOT medical card.
- Experience : Previous experience with equipment such as loaders, Bobcats, skid steers, and forklifts is preferred.
- Navigation Skills : Ability to follow directions, navigate routes, and read maps.
- Self-Motivation : Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Language Skills : Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus.
