GDC IT Solutions is looking for a Database Administrator in the Mechanicsburg, PA area.
Position Overview
Position Overview :
The position is responsible for the day-to-day configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical MS SQL Server systems;
ensuring the integrity, reliability and recoverability of data for a wide variety of in-house developed applications and off the shelf software.
The position requires solid technical skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and requires assumption of on-call duties.
The successful candidate will be able to take direction well, yet contribute their own insights when required, working both independently and collaboratively with other teams.
Responsibilities
Manage SQL Server implementations across all environments from development, through testing to production.
Maintain database servers and processes to ensure high levels of integrity, reliability and recoverability while keeping performance and security in line with industry standards.
Analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end.
Automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes.
- Assist in providing 24x7 support for critical production systems.
- Perform scheduled maintenance which includes after-hours deployment of CUs and Hotfixes.
- Participation in an on-call rotation
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of two years of IT experience which involved the analysis, design, and maintenance of databases in overall
support of database administration.
3+ years MS SQL Server Administration experience required.
Experience with backups, restores, and recovery models.
Knowledge of High Availability (HA) options.
Knowledge of Disaster Recovery (DR) options.
Preferred Experience
Pre ferred Experience :
- Moderate experience with SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services).
- Moderate experience with SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services).
- Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO) using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
- MS Dynamics CRM MSSQL server administration experience.
- SharePoint MSSQL server administration experience.
- TFS MSSQL server administration experience.
- BIS for Visual Studio experience.
- Windows Server administration experience.
- VMWare vSphere experience.
