About The Position
Job Title : Physical Therapy Assistant (Licensed) Job Specialty : Adult Rehab Services Job Duration : 13 Weeks Shift : 8-Hour Shifts, 5 Days a Week Guaranteed Hours : 40 Hours Experience : No minimum experience required License : Current license from the State of Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision as a Physical Therapist Assistant or eligibility to sit for the state license with completion required within six months of hire Certifications : Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire Must-Have : Associate degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant;
Proficiency in English (speak, read, write) Job Description : - Work under the direct supervision of a Physical Therapist to carry out treatment plans in accordance with physician's orders.
- Provide supervised treatments as indicated by the Physical Therapist, utilizing modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and hot / cold packs.
- Assist with patient transfers, exercise, walking, and other movement-related activities. - Offer input to the therapist concerning the effectiveness of treatments, and suggest adjustments needed to the treatment plan for patient accommodation or in cases of adverse reactions.
- Make appropriate progress documentation in patient charts, co-signed by a licensed Physical Therapist. - Administer motorized traction to alleviate neck and back pain.
- Maintain effective working relationships with staff and communicate effectively with patients to encourage responsibility for their treatment and development.
