The Evaluation Professional Staff Nurse will work alongside Therapists, Prescribers and Service Coordinators to provide treatment to an underserved population in our community with mental health needs.
Each day in this position will vary, as you will be exposed to a variety of settings and patient needs between our Clinic and our Crisis Residential Unit.
This is a full-time position, at 36 hours per week. The hire for this position will float between our Clinic and our Crisis Residential Unit (CRU).
CRU shifts will be scheduled on a as needed basis, averaging a few times per month. These specific shifts will be 12 hours, and may require nights, weekends and / or holidays.
Most shifts will be in the Clinic, which has Monday through Friday daylight hours, 8a-5p. RN on-call hours required. On-call rates will receive an additional $2 per hour, and 1.
5 times the pay should call in be required.
The dress code for this position is business casual and parking provided on site at no cost.

- The individual must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and / or interact appropriately to the ages of the patients served by his / her assigned unit as specified below.
- They must also demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patients' requirements relative to his / her age-specific needs and to provide the care needs as described in the department policy and procedures.
- Minimum six months experience .
- BSNpreferred.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive, caring relationships with executives, managers, physicians, non-physician providers, ancillary and support staff, other departments, and patients / families.
- Ability to work productively and effectively within a complex environment, handle multiple / changing priorities and specialized equipment.
- Good clinical judgment with critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving abilities required as related to various aspects of patient care.
- Critical thinking skills necessary to exercise and to lead others in application of the nursing process.
- Mobility and visual manual dexterity. Physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting and positioning of patients.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances :
UPMC approved national certification preferred. Current Pennsylvania licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse . CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
