We are currently seeking a candidate to fill the role of National Business Development Executive. The National Business Development Executive is a high-level strategic role responsible for driving business growth across national accounts and identifying new opportunities nationwide.

This role demands a seasoned professional with extensive experience in business development, particularly within the engineering sector.

The successful candidate will lead efforts to secure major contracts, establish new client relationships, and enhance the company's market presence on a national scale.

Pay : $104,000 - 150,000 / year, also eligible for quarterly incentive bonuses

NATIONAL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT EXECUTIVE MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

National Business Development :

  • Lead Growth Initiatives : Spearhead efforts to increase revenue by identifying and securing large-scale contracts with national clients, focusing on structural, infrastructure, and safety engineering services.
  • Target Key Accounts : Identify and prioritize high-value national accounts, tailoring approaches to meet the unique needs and challenges of these clients.
  • Expand Market Opportunities : Research and analyze market trends to uncover new business opportunities across various regions and sectors, ensuring the company remains competitive.
  • Develop Relationships : Establish connections with potential clients nationwide through networking, industry events, and strategic outreach efforts, including cold calling and setting up appointments.

Strategic Leadership :

  • Develop Strategy Plans : Create and implement comprehensive business development strategies that align with our national growth objectives, ensuring market / sales capture strategies support broader company goals, including market expansion, revenue targets, and brand positioning.
  • Market Research & Tactics : Oversee in-depth market analysis to understand industry trends, competitive landscape, and client needs, using this data to inform strategic decisions.

Continuously refine and adjust business development tactics based on market feedback and performance metrics to maximize impact.

Ensure Client Success : Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

Client Relationship Management :

  • Cultivate Partnerships : Develop and nurture strong, long-term relationships with top-tier national clients, positioning the company as a trusted partner.
  • Enhance Growth : Engage with clients at multiple levels within their organization to understand their strategic goals and how the company can support them.
  • Ensure Excellence : Monitor the execution of client projects to ensure they meet or exceed expectations, providing guidance to project teams as needed.

Act as the main point of contact for escalated client concerns, ensuring swift resolution and maintaining client satisfaction.

National Networking :

Industry Engagement : Represent LJB at key national industry conferences, trade shows, and seminars, staying current with industry developments and trends.

Align and participate as a speaker or panelist at industry events to showcase the company's expertise and thought leadership.

  • Expand Influence : Develop and maintain a broad network of contacts across the engineering and other professional sectors, including potential clients, industry influencers, and partners.
  • Leverage Connections : Use these connections to generate new business opportunities, gain market insights, and strengthen the company's market position.

Sales Leadership :

  • Team Development : Lead Regional Business Development Executives, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure they meet their individual sales targets.
  • Performance Management : Set clear performance expectations, conduct regular reviews, and provide ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance team capabilities.
  • Align Sales Strategies : Ensure the sales team's efforts are aligned with overall business development strategies, fostering collaboration between team members and other departments.

Manage resources effectively, ensuring the sales team has the tools, training, and support needed to succeed in their roles.

Additional responsibilities :

  • Willingness to travel within the region as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

NATIONAL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT EXECUTIVE ESSENTIAL CREDENTIALS :

Qualifications :

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in senior business development roles preferably within the engineering, architecture or construction industry.
  • Proven ability to secure large contracts and grow business on a national scale.
  • Deep understanding of the structural, infrastructure, and safety engineering markets.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Experience with CRM software and business analytics tools.
