Minimum 1+ years intrepreter experience required.
As a Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) at VocoVision, your role will have a significant impact on communication for students in educational settings.
You will collaborate closely with teachers, administrators, and other professionals to ensure that students who are deaf or hard of hearing receive the support they need to fully participate in their education.
Your efforts will help foster an inclusive and accessible learning environment, enabling these students to thrive academically and socially.
By bridging communication gaps, you will be instrumental in empowering students and enhancing their educational experience.
SLI Requirements :
- Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL).
- EIPA certification with a score of 3.5 or higher.
- RID (Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf) certification.
- NIC (National Interpreter Certification) certification.
- Previous experience in a school or educational setting is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
SLI Job Description :
- Providing sign language interpretation during classroom instruction and various school activities.
- Facilitating communication between students, educators, and other school staff.
- Collaborating with the educational team to ensure the inclusion and success of students with hearing impairments.
- Adhering to ethical standards and confidentiality in all interpreting assignments.
- Supporting individualized learning plans for students with hearing-related needs.
- Participating in professional development and training opportunities as needed.
