Summary
Responsibilities :
- The individual will be responsible for the operation of the central plant.
- Monitor, operate, and maintain the mechanical equipment in different areas of the hotel.
- Work independently, with little or no supervision.
- Possess general troubleshooting skills to repair kitchen, laundry, and HVAC / VTAC / T-SAT equipment.
- Replace light switches and outlets; familiar with working on high voltage and power over ethernet lighting.
- Schedule and control space temperatures in all areas of the hotel through the BMS.
- Familiar with life safety systems, fire alarms, sprinkler systems, smoke detectors, and how to acknowledge and silence these alarms.
- Possess painting skills or be proficient at patching, sanding, painting, and wallpaper skills.
- Demonstrate good troubleshooting skills in electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
- Maintain maintenance logs and reports, and communicate any discrepancies related to business operations.
Qualifications :
- At least 2 years of experience leading or supervising a team, preferably in the hospitality industry.
- 3+ years experience in hospitality maintenance.
- Excellent understanding of engineering / maintenance principles.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must be flexible with schedule; will work weekdays, weekends, am and pm, and holidays.
- Must have a reliable means of transportation.
- Ability to come in at night or on days off in an emergency.
- Experience leading a team of 2-3 maintenance technicians.
- Hotel maintenance experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC / VTAC, pool, computers, and Fire Life Safety is required.
- Ability to complete work orders and special projects on time.
- The ability to process negative feedback and remain professional.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and communicating.
