Software Engineer 2 - Fullstack (KSL.com) (Hybrid, Utah)

Deseret Digital Media (DDM) KSL.com Utah.com is seeking a Fullstack Software Engineer II to join our technology team to collaboratively build and support the KSL Classifieds product.

In a typical week, software developer engineers on this team develop and maintain features for the KSL Classifieds product.

They work with a team of product managers, graphic designers, and software and QA engineers to prioritize and build features.

The ideal candidate has experience working on high-traffic websites using Golang, Node, or a similar language. They will demonstrate excellent communication skills and an excitement to learn new skills and technologies.

What You’ll Do

• Build and maintain modern web applications using front-end technologies like TypeScript, React, and Next.js, and back-end APIs written in Golan
• Collaborate with team members to develop and maintain portions of KSL Classifieds.

What You’ll Bring

• At least 2 5 years of experience with web software development technologies and tools
• Experience building modern, versioned APIs
• Experience with database technologies like MongoDB, MySQL or similar
• Experience with version control systems, like Git, and using tools like GitHub
• A desire to learn and share new and emerging technologies
• A strong ability to work collaboratively with team members, including software and QA engineers, product managers, and UX and graphic designers
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• A goal-oriented focus with high personal drive, integrity, and energy

It’s a Bonus If You Have Experience

• Developing and maintaining high-traffic websites
• Working experience with Golang, Next.js, React, or TypeScript
• Familiarity or experience with back-end technologies like Golang
• Familiarity or experience with front-end technologies like React, Next.js and / or TypeScript
• Writing and migrating legacy web applications written in PHP
• Building and maintaining CI / CD pipelines
• Building containerized applications using Docker or similar applications
• Working in a Cloud Environment like Google Cloud Platform or equivalent
• Writing unit tests and using code quality tools to maintain project quality
