The Senior Accountant will report to the Director of Finance. The ideal Senior Accountant has five or more years of experience with general ledger management within the defense industry, proficiency with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), and proficiency with technology, preferably Deltek.

What you will be doing as the Corporate Lead Accountant :
Financial Reporting : Prepare and consolidate financial statements. Provide daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial analysis.
Research accounting issues for compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
General Ledger Reconciliation and Analysis : Maintain all aspects of the general ledger. Manage journal entries, invoices, etc.
and reconcile accounts for the timesheet period, monthly, quarterly, or annual closing.
- Financial Audit and Tax Preparation : Serve as a liaison to external auditors and tax preparers. Participate in preparation of the annual audit(s) and tax return.
- Assist in the formulation of internal controls and policies to comply with legislation and established best practices.
- Work closely with all functional areas of the business to provide reliable data, reporting, and analyses critical to strategic business decisions.
- Other duties as assigned.
What you will need to be successful as the Corporate Lead Accountant :
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- CPA preferred.
- 5+ years’ experience in Government services contracting required.
- 5+ years general ledger and monthly close experience required. Knowledge, understanding and application of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) is required.
- Knowledge of all aspects of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is required.
- Must possess strong analytical, technological, and organizational skills.
- Accuracy, timeliness, and attention to detail are required.
- Ability to work independently, within teams, other departments and meet communicated schedules and deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
