About The Team You Are Joining
The Airline, Airport and Security OCS department provides the aviation industry with transformative Operational and Compliance solutions helping to drive overall profitability and sustainability.
Within the department, the Identity Services team provides the aviation industry with coding and identification services which power and enable a globally connected travel ecosystem.
This includes managing airport codes, airline codes and travel seller identification and verification on behalf of the wider travel industry.
The portfolio consists of 4 main product lines : Airline and Location Code Issuance, Global Data Products, Travel Professional ID Cards, and Mileage and Coding Publications.
Together these products provide critical services for the identification of industry players and locations through codes, as well as the verification of these identifiers through a suite of different services and publications.
The Senior Product Manager Industry Professionals Identity Services reports to the Head, Aviation Industry Identity Services and is responsible for the product management of the Travel Professional ID Card portfolio as well as driving new initiatives in the identification and verification of industry professionals across the aviation and travel & tourism segments.
What Your Day Would Be Like
- Strategic product development and management of IATA’s industry professional identification services including the IATA / IATAN Travel Agent ID Card as well as services for the identification of other industry professionals.
- Drive adoption of industry professional identification programs by achieving the goal of being the leading provider of identification and verification services for industry professionals.
- Develop go-to-market strategies and execute marketing and sales campaigns in conjunction with the marketing and regional sales teams, ensuring financial and other targets are achieved.
- Work closely with internal and external industry stakeholders in defining a product strategy and executing on the roadmap through new products and product enhancements including leveraging new digital identity technologies.
- Manage strategic vendors to support existing travel professional identification initiatives as well as new activities that support the product roadmap.
- Establish and manage multifunctional teams to deliver business results and projects successfully.
- Expand portfolio to new industry segments.
- Work closely with operations and technical teams to ensure the smooth day-to-day operations of the solutions and support customer service.
- Maintain full P&L ownership for the portfolio including managing budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
- Engage closely with IATA and industry stakeholders and participate in industry forums to promote the value of industry professional identification and related personnel identity verification services.
We Would Love To Hear From You If You Possess
- A university degree (Bachelor or Master) in Business Administration, Economics, Marketing or equivalent.
- 7 - 10 years of commercial / product management experience preferably in the airline or wider travel industry.
- Experience in the travel industry, and in distribution in particular.
- Knowledge and experience with identity management solutions and their implementation.
- Outstanding presentation and communication skills with ability to transmit messages effectively and concisely.
- Strong leader, comfortable in managing multifunctional teams and external suppliers.
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to build sustainable relationships with stakeholders.
- Comfortable in public speaking and influencing key stakeholders.
- Attention to detail and an ability to sift through data to derive thoughtful insights.
- Flexible, innovative, and can-do mentality and the ability to work in a complex, business critical and high-profile commercial environment and in ambiguous situations.
- Fluency in written and spoken English, other languages desirable.
- Candidates must possess and exhibit the core IATA values (be people and team oriented, focused on results, embrace innovation, and change, and demonstrate leadership and personal integrity).
