PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT MANAGER (SWEATER EXPERIENCE PREFERRED)

Our Company : BCI Brands designs, sources, and markets nationally and internationally an extensive range of women's career, casual sportswear, and dresses.

Their products are sold through all primary retail distribution levels principally under various trademarks and under private label brand names, such as Ted Baker, Vince Camuto, CeCe, 1.state and Parker.

Main functions :

We're looking for a Product Development Managerto work with design, production and sales to ensure that all outstanding order details are being completed.

An ideal candidate is data-driven, detail-oriented, has great time management and is a self-starter who is excited to work in a rapidly evolving office.

Reports to : Head Sweater Designer

Responsibilities :

  • Resolve and coordinate development & production issues by communicating with design, Production, Sales, and Tech when needed.
  • Working closely with the design team to gather & organize all necessary data in a timely manner and helping to relay all information to the appropriate departments.
  • Responsible for weekly status meetings on all outstanding garment information on order.
  • Management and maintaining of design development charts
  • Communicate daily with overseas vendors regarding development, production and delivery information where needed.
  • Manage & help build seasonal calendar / deadlines by brand for design team
  • Approve & help source trims alongside design for bulk
  • Manage yarn development chart and yarn code creation
  • Manage sample deliverables & tracking with help of design assistants
  • Liaison between Production and Design teams
  • Help highlight & anticipate any product related issues (sample development delivery timing and style execution)
  • Updating and hand-off of development tech packs to production for bulk fittings
  • Collaborate with Buying & Production teams to streamline processes and calendar
  • L / dip comments & approvals (development through bulk) alongside design team

Requirements

  • Must have 5 years of experience within product development, ideally with sweaters .
  • Background in fashion required .
  • Strong problem-solving and execution skills. Operationally-minded.
  • Detailed oriented with a keen eye for accuracy
  • Knowledgeable in yarns
  • Comfortable with understanding manufacturing process
  • Good time management skills with the ability to prioritize and shift focus as needed.
  • Strong follow-through skills, especially following up with multiple teams to get the information needed to resolve pending purchase orders
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills - able to write concise messages and communicate clearly.
  • Comfortable entering and retrieving data from multiple systems in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good working knowledge of Excel. Exenta a bonus.

The salary range for this full-time, exempt position is between $115-125k, dependent upon experience.
