What We Offer
The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. The salary range for this position is $103,977 $171,562 / year.

Location
The City and County of Denver supports a hybrid workplace model. Employees work where needed, at a job site several days a week and off-site as needed.
Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their off-site days. In this position you can expect to work on site at the Denver Post Building (101 W.
Colfax Denver, CO 80201) on your in-office days.
What You’ll Do
The Denver Parks and Recreation (DPR) is currently seeking a Manager of Capital Finance and Data to join our team! The individual in this position will be a key support role to the mission of the department.
DPR is dedicated to customer service and enhancing the health of residents and the environment through innovative programs and safe, beautiful and sustainable places.
DPR employees are devoted to positively impacting our diverse population, including children, youth, adults, seniors and adaptive participants.
Specifically, as Manager of Capital Finance and Data, you will :
- Provide administrative support with the capital planning process, including coordination with other internal city departments regarding capital budget targets / tracking
- Ensure capital accounts are programmed appropriately according to their use requirements
- Oversee capital account setup and funding transfers as well as monitor account balances and projections
- Lead the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data related to the management of parks and recreation operations, capital financial planning and capital projects.
This includes information from the City financial system, asset condition assessments, point of sale systems, GIS, Sharepoint, and AI.
Utilize this information to support budget decisions and provide insight to possible efficiencies
- Develop standard monthly reporting package, performance management dashboards and models, while incorporating key capital spend and funding metrics
- Monitor performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variances and review those with key stakeholders
- Possess solid working knowledge of software applications for data analysis, financial modeling and presentation
- Continuously evaluate processes to drive efficiencies using collaborative techniques, emerging methodologies and automation tools
- Communicate complex analytical and scientific processes and results to internal and external stakeholders, including both technical and non-technical audiences
- Advance efforts to take a data-informed approach within Parks and Recreation
- Lead, coach and supervise analyst(s), including hiring, discipline, assigning work (plan, organize, control, integrate and evaluate work), preparing performance evaluations, establish performance requirements and personal development targets;
regularly monitor performance and provide coaching for performance improvement and development
- Provide direct support and high level of customer service to DPR stakeholders for capital finance related items
- Apply independent judgment on complex technical and data issues and be able to resolve problems effectively

Our ideal candidate has some or all the following experience, skills, and characteristics :
- 5-7 years of related experience
- Proficient in Excel and Power BI
- Experience with Workday, AI Placer and Open Gov is a plus, but not required
- Self-motivated and reliable, with great attention to detail
- Strong organizational and critical thinking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to form strong working relationships with various stakeholders
- Master’s Degree in business, finance or related field
Required Minimum Qualifications
Education requirement : Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field of study
Experience Requirement : Three (3) years of experience at the type and level of functional or operational management, which must have included management of professional individual contributors
Education / Experience Equivalency : One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post high school education.
Additional appropriate education may be substituted for experience requirements.
Licensure and Certification : Requires a valid Driver’s License at the time of application. Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment
