Job Overview :
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our team. DSPs will work with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, helping them achieve their personal goals, maintain independence, and fully integrate into their communities.
DSPs are responsible for providing direct care and support, ensuring health and safety, and promoting dignity, respect, and independence.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assist individuals with daily living activities, including but not limited to, personal hygiene, meal preparation, and mobility assistance.
- Implement Individualized Service Plans (ISPs) and ensure all activities align with the consumer’s personal goals and needs.
- Provide companionship, emotional support, and promote social engagement and inclusion within the community.
- Administer medication and monitor the health and wellness of the individuals.
- Assist in transportation to appointments, recreational activities, and community outings.
- Maintain accurate documentation of care, including daily logs, health records, and incident reports as required by DDD and company policies.
- Follow prescribed behavioral support plans and interventions as outlined in ISPs.
- Uphold the dignity and rights of individuals, ensuring that their choices and preferences are respected.
- Participate in training sessions and maintain required certifications (e.g., CPR, First Aid).
Qualifications :
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License and access to reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass a background check and other required screenings (e.g., Child Abuse Record Information (CARI)).
- Must complete mandatory CPR, First Aid, and other required training through approved agencies, including training offered via the College of Direct Support.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
