What are we looking for in our Estimator?
We are seeking an experienced Estimator for our Mount Vernon, NY Office . The Estimator is responsible for accurately estimating the total costs associated with a project by executing a detailed line-item budget by trade with unit costs.
The ideal candidate must have an acute attention to detail and demonstrated ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with fixed deadlines.
What You Will Do
- Prepare detailed conceptual budgets and estimating from pre-construction, concept design, schematic design and design development documents
- Perform detailed take-offs of all trades. Initiate and manage entire bid process (construction management and general contractor) inclusive of preparation of detailed bid package
- Ensure accurate and proper submissions & proposals by all subcontractors
- Attend and lead subcontractor calls and meetings as needed
- Conduct on-site walk-throughs as needed
Professional Qualifications & Skills
4+ years of experience in budgeting and estimating for commercial construction projects. Both ground-up and commercial interior knowledge required.
Retail construction experience a plus.
- Proven ability to compile complete estimates and hard bid packages with trade breakdowns
- Strong presentation skills and ability to lead or participate meetings with subcontractors, clients, owners, and architects as needed
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
