Our Business Services team is here to make sure that Data and Digital thrive like a well-oiled machine. We're the ones who help set the course, gather resources, and make sure things run smoothly - think of us as the ultimate planners and communicators, making sure everyone is on the same page!

We're like the superhero support squad for Data and Digital. From keeping everyone in the loop through top-notch communication (we're buddies with the Communication and Engagement team) to making sure the right people are in the right places (our friends in People and Culture are our partners here), we've got it all covered.

We've got a handle on best practices, training, and making sure everyone's got the right skills. Plus, we're the guardians of risk management and privacy keeping things safe and sound in the world of Data and Digital is our specialty

Mōu About you

As our Group Manager Business Support, you will play a vital role in powering the operations of our Data & Digital function.

You will engage in strategic advisory and reporting ensuring that our journey is well-documented and shared, plus, you'll oversee business administration functions and collaborate with our fantastic colleagues across various Te Whatu Ora Corporate teams.

You will be at the forefront of developing and maintaining a comprehensive strategic reporting framework for Data & Digital.

Your insights will be key in crafting impactful Executive, Board, and Ministerial reports, and you will be a master at gathering and analysing data, producing insightful reports for our senior management, Board, and Ministerial audience.

We trust you to ensure accuracy and integrity in all your communications.

As a leader, you'll guide a team of talented individuals, supporting them in their growth and development. Creating a positive, innovative, and collaborative environment is your bread and butter.

You will streamline processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement strategies that enhance the quality of our business support services.

Monitoring performance indicators and addressing deviations will be your forte, and your liaison skills will shine as you foster relationships across various teams, ensuring everyone is on the same page.

Preference will be given to applications of significantly affected Kaimahi through the change process.

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako Skills and experience

  • Minimum 10 years in senior business support or office management roles, preferably for a large national organisation.
  • Experience (and ideally formal training) in public sector practices (esp. Ministerial reporting and briefings).
  • Strong knowledge of public sector and business processes, operational frameworks, and best practices.
  • Significant experience in the development of Ministerial briefings and facilitation of responses to OIAs, PQs and media enquiries.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement policies and procedures that align with organisational goals and industry best practices
  • Knowledge of relevant public sector performance, assurance, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders (incl.

managing teams of specialists, management of remote / hybrid / virtual teams).

Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.

Proficiency in data analysis tools, reporting software, and MS Office Suite.

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and quality
  • Ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (advanced written and verbal communications, experience writing reports for Executive and Board audiences).
