Our laboratory facility has an immediate need for a full-time, experienced Billing Specialist who is familiar with insurance companies, Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care plans, Commercial, WC, No Faults.
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and willing to work a problem to its successful conclusion. Previous experience in laboratory billing will make this transition much easier.
SKILLS :
- High school diploma / GED required, College degree or Medical Billing certificate preferred
- Experience with medical billing, preferably in a laboratory environment
- Excellent customer service skills and phone manner
- Ability to manage stress in a fast-paced environment
- Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and Managed Care plans
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Submit and process claims in a timely manner
- Work with patients to develop self-pay arrangements and payment plans
- Process and follow up on payer denials
- Work on appeals process
- Post payments in a timely manner
- Strong team player
- Create and work on Excel spreadsheet reports
- Complete insurance audits paperwork
