Vista is interested in hiring an experienced Cath Lab Registered Nurse who is looking to broaden his / her skills and gain valuable experience working in a community hospital that worked hard to achieve status as certified Centers of Excellence in numerous critical areas of patient care.
Registered Nurse / RN Responsibilities :
Responsible for assisting the cardiologist in diagnostic cardiac catheterizations and interventional procedures on patients and providing quality nursing care, assessing and managing patient care in the cardiac catheterization lab, and interventional radiology as needed.
In addition, the Cardiac Cath Lab Nurse patient-care specialist will closely monitor the patient for improvement or complications, administering medications as indicated and assisting the Interventionist.
The Cardiac Cath Lab Nurse will also administer medications for moderate sedation during the procedures.
Demonstrates the ability to function in all aspects of diagnostic and interventional catheterization to include circulating, monitoring and recording of procedures,12 lead EKG interpretation, cardiac medications, emergency management of cardiac patients, current clinical practice guidelines in cardiology, and secondary prevention.
Performs nursing assessments to gather data and identify the patient's needs for this period of care.
Pre-procedure duties consist of checking clinically important aspects related to the patient entering the Cath lab.
Assist physicians during catheterization procedures, angioplasties, pacemaker implantation and other cardiac procedures.
Understanding of Special devices including Intraaortic balloon pumps, rotoblators, AngioJets, thrombus aspiration systems, cutting balloons, filter wires, etc.
Qualifications, Desired Skills, and Experiences :
- Minimum of 1 year of cardiology catheterization lab experience is preferred. ICU experience preferred.
- ACLS is required.
- Advanced Cardiac Rhythm Interpretation experience required. Moderate sedation experience required.
