Position Summary
The Mechanical Designer is responsible for developing detailed 3D mechanical drawings and fabrication documentation to support the engineering and production teams. This role helps turn conceptual designs into manufacturable solutions that meet customer specifications and project requirements.
Job Function
The Mechanical Designer's primary function is to develop detailed mechanical drawings and fabrication documentation that support product design, manufacturing, and project delivery. This role ensures designs are accurate, meet customer specifications, comply with industry standards, and facilitate efficient production workflows.
Key Responsibilities
Review project specifications, technical requirements, and design objectivesDevelop 3D models and mechanical drawings using Autodesk InventorCollaborate closely with sales, project engineers, and other stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve design issuesModify and update drawings based on feedback and final customer requirementsGenerate accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and perform basic engineering calculations to ensure integrity and complianceEnsure drawings and documentation adhere to applicable codes and standards, including ASMESupport other engineering tasks and special projects as assignedQualifications & Skills
Associate degree in Mechanical Drafting / Design, or equivalent experience1-2 years of mechanical design experience in a manufacturing or engineering environmentProficient in Autodesk Inventor (2024 or newer preferred)Strong understanding of mechanical drawings and ability to interpret P&ID schematicsFamiliarity with ASME codes and general fabrication standardsStrong attention to detail and commitment to accuracyEffective verbal and written communication skillsAbility to manage multiple projects and meet deadlinesEmployment Details
