SUMMARY
The professional nurse practitioner is responsible for the organization and administration of patient care within their scope of practice.
The Nurse Practitioner participates in patient and family teaching, provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards of professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.
Aligned with Nursing Unit Leadership and Medical Staff, the Nurse Practitioner coordinates the delivery of care and provides leadership by working cooperatively with medical, ancillary and support staff in maintaining standards of professional practice in the clinical setting.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education
- Registered Nurse currently licensed in the State of Texas; Advanced Nurse Practitioner currently registered with the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners (BNE)
- Experience Required : Prefer previous experience providing medical care within a hospital environment.
Required Licenses / Certifications
- Current state licensure registration.
- Current BCLS for health care providers.
- One year full time acute care experience.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
Demonstrated proficiency in acute care nursing, knowledge and skills.
