This position will work in the Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego Urgent Care. RCHSD (Rady Children’s Hospital San Diego) is the major regional primary and tertiary pediatric hospital serving San Diego and Southern Riverside counties and is the clinical home of the UCSD (University of California San Diego) Department of Pediatrics.
Rady Children’s Hospital was recently ranked in the Top 10 Best Children’s Hospitals in the Nation. The UCSD Department of Pediatrics and Rady Children’s Hospital of San Diego (RCHSD) are home to the UCSD Pediatrics Residency Training Program and host to several other training programs in the area, with a strong commitment to academic excellence.

If hired, you will join our expanding Urgent Care staff, which currently consists of 16 physicians and 3 pediatric nurse practitioners.
You will provide same-day acute care to pediatric patients throughout the local community. Primary responsibilities include scheduled clinical shifts and coverage for sick call-ins.
You may also work with trainees as they rotate through our clinics. If contracted for a full-time equivalent (FTE) equal to or above 50% of full-time, you will be eligible for full benefits.

The RCHSD Urgent Care consists of 5 locations throughout San Diego and Southern Riverside counties, providing great "in your neighborhood" accessibility to the community we serve.
The Urgent Care holds a close relationship with the RCHSD Emergency Department located at the Rady Children’s Hospital Main Campus.
Together we form the Division of Emergency Medicine within the UCSD Department of Pediatrics, with a strong commitment to equitable clinical care, quality improvement, research, and education.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
MD / DO degree and must be board certified / board eligible in Pediatrics.
Current DEA license and California medical license or equivalent certification / permit as determined by the Medical Board of California or must have completed both licensures by their first day.
Current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification (or have completed by their first day).
