Description Nurse's Aide-Rehab-Full Time-Day-Mount Sinai Queens Under the supervision of a licensed Physical, Occupational or Speech Therapist, the Rehabilitation Aide / Transporter assists in the treatment of patients, performs general non-technical duties such as : positioning, lifting, transferring and transporting patients;

maintains equipment and facility, performs duties in a manner that is consistent with Patient First Service Standards. As a member of the Rehab Department, the Rehab Aide / Transporter will provide the necessary assistance in either the acute care setting or in the outpatient setting, as needed.

Responsibilities Transport patients to and from rooms / treatment areas and support department as directed by the supervisory therapist or director of department.

Assist clinical personnel in transferring patients to and / or from bed, chairs, wheelchairs or stretchers. Assist clinical personnel in positioning patients in or on equipment, devices or treatment tables.

Demonstrates understanding of body mechanics, transfers' safety, lifting techniques and injury prevention principles. Assemble and disassemble equipment or accessories and assist in adapting equipment for patients.

Prepare modalities / equipment i.e. : whirlpool, paraffin baths and hot or cold packs as well as CPM machines according to the department infection control policies.

Monitor and record modality temperatures daily in the "temperature log" to ensure that temperatures are being kept within adequate range, and reporting supervisor if temperature range is inadequate.

Ensure adequate equipment operation, including wheelchairs, by performing regular inspections and inventory. To prepare, maintain and clear treatment areas, as well as equipment and maintain the safety of supportive areas.

Obtain supplies from Central Supply, Storeroom and linens from the Linen Department as needed. Be proficient in use of EMR Maintain established department policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, safety, environmental and infection control standards.

Maintains attendance, punctuality and dress code in accordance with departmental policies. Responsible for completing annual mandatory education.

Observe service standards to enhance patient satisfaction. The Rehabilitation Aide / Transporter appropriately demonstrates and incorporates the necessary knowledge and skills into the assessment and care provided to the following patient population : adolescents, adults and geriatrics, and reflect the physical, psychological, cognitive and characteristics of each age group, as based on sound growth and development principles.

Participate in educational programs, in-services and meetings. Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. Qualifications Education : High School Diploma.

The salary range for the role is $23.187 - $25.2344 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need.
