Minimum 1+ years social worker experience required.
We are actively interviewing experienced Social Workers for a full-time role with school districts in the Hopewell, Virginia area for the upcoming school year.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provide individual and group counseling to students.
- Develop and implement intervention strategies to improve student academic and social performance.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to address student needs and progress.
- Conduct assessments and create individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Facilitate communication between the school, families, and external agencies to ensure comprehensive support for students.
- Address attendance issues and provide crisis intervention as necessary.
- Advocate for student well-being and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
Qualifications :
- Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
- Valid Virginia Board of Social Work license.
- Virginia Department of Education license with an endorsement in School Social Work.
- Previous experience working in a school setting is preferred.
- Strong understanding of child development, learning disabilities, and behavior management techniques.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
