The job responsibilities included being a resource for Drivers regarding compliance with federal regulations and company policy, and accidents / incidents in a safe, efficient, timely, cost effective and practical manner.
Responsibilities :
- Schedule and conduct the in-house Old Dominion Truck Driver Training program.
- Qualify road test examiners and driver trainers.
- Perform annual service center safety audits.
- Monitor hours of service and ELD compliance at each assigned service center on a regular basis.
- Check and verify miles and routes when traveling from service center to service center or meet point, within assigned area.
- Post-accident interviews with drivers involved in accidents.
- Review of the Daily Injury Report per assigned area.
- Assist in the start-up of new service centers in assigned area.
- Coordinate State Truck Driver Championships and arrange practices.
- Provide leadership and guidance to Service Center Managers
Qualifications :
- Currently have a Class A - CDL with X and T endorsements.
- This position REQUIRES much traveling (at least 26 of 52 weeks and possibly more at times.
- Familiar with OSHA, EPA and DOT regulations, and company policies.
- At least two years accident free (Non-Preventable) driving experience.
- Previous experience in Professional Truck Driver Training is helpful.
- Must have excellent communication skills.
- Previous supervisor / management experience in transportation is helpful.
- Familiar and able to teach others in - Hours of Service Technology, Company Policies, Hazardous Materials and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
- Be available 24 hrs. a day via cell phone, email when necessary.
- This position comes with furnished transportation, travel / lodging expenses, lap-top computer, tablet and cell phone.
- Willing to work up to a ten-hour minimum day, including some weekends when necessary.
- Teaching ability in class room and hands on for our in-house truck driver training program
- Must be computer literate in Outlook, Word and Excel.
