AP / AR SpecialistSummary : The Client Benefit Manager works with individuals and families of those who the Social Security Administration (SSA) deems necessary to retain a representative payee for the administration of the financial benefit.

The representative payee disburses payment to vendors on behalf of the client to ensure the client remains stably housed, provides budgeting counseling and debt management services.

Responsibilities include : Under general supervision, prepares, analyzes, interprets and maintains accounting records for participants in ABLE accounts, DTA / SNAP benefits, SSN benefits, SSP, Skills for Life, and other client expenses.

Responsibilities : Perform activities associated with the overall management and administration of the Representative Payee and food stamp operations.

Respond to all inquiries on Rep Payee information. Maintain the Rep Payee records on the designated accounting software.

Ensure that all transactions are properly approved and documented. Ensure that all receipts and disbursements are processed in a timely manner.

Create and deliver all client reports to Social Security on a timely basis RPs Annually. Communicate with and provide training to site staff on Rep Payee issues as needed.

Budget Slip, Special Request Forms, and Ledgers (ADS has procedure) Implements accounting systems and accounting control procedures like Bank ReconciliationIssues Invoices and Client Funds StatementsPrepare and Distribute Invoices for program Skills for LifeAssists in monthly closing routines and special projects, as necessary.

REQUIREMENTS2+ years experienceProficiency in accounting software and MS Excel. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry and analysis.

Understand and comply with all HIPAA regulations that apply to clients served. Strong money management and financial skills as well as excellent attention to detail.

Ability to maintain accurate records and maintain confidentiality of information. Ability to respond appropriately to complaints, request, and program needs.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively. Experience in not for profit is a plus.

Associates Degree in related field( such as Business, Banking, Law, Human Services) required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
