The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) is the state agency that focuses solely on policies, programs, and services for people with mental health challenges, substance use disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, or any combination of these.
As Georgia's public safety net, DBHDD operates six field offices and five hospitals throughout the state within three program areas : behavioral health, developmental disabilities and hospital services.
The main office for DBHDD is located in downtown Atlanta.
Job Description
Job Title : Quality Improvement Manager- East Central Regional Hospital
Pay Grade : L
Job Summary :
Under Supervision, coordinates and manages quality assurance and performance Improvement activities at hospital
Under supervision, manages CMS, TJC, and other regulatory agency corrective action plans
Facilitates and coordinates Performance Improvement Teams
Working with hospital leadership, facilitates implementation of initiatives identified by performance improvement teams
Collaborates with other PI Coordinators to address Division of Hospital Services needs
Under supervision, facilitates required yearly quality assessment of effectiveness, for example Proactive Risk Assessments (FMEA), Staffing Effectiveness, and Governing Body Reports
Serves on Hospital Level Committees as appointed by Director of QM / RM
Position requires up to 10% travel within state hospital system
Actively Participate in assigned Hospital System Meetings
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's in a related field from an accredited college or university and four years of experience related to area of assignment
Experience in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement, including analysis and presentation of clinical data and key performance indicators
Knowledge and experience in TJC Surveys
Knowledge of TJC (HAP, NCC, BHC) accreditation requirements and CMS certification standards
Experience in project management
Experience in working with cross functional teams
Good communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
Master's in healthcare management or related field
Experience working in an inpatient psychiatric facility
Experience in Microsoft Office programs
Experience with Microsoft SharePoint
