We are in search of a highly motivated Asian and / or European Automotive Technician to join our team as our lead tech. The duties of the Lead Technician position include performing electronic, electrical, and mechanical diagnostics, as well as repairs on mechanical, engine, transmission, chassis, HVAC, and brake systems.

The ideal candidate should have a minimum of five years' experience as a diagnostic tech, be proficient in using various diagnostic scanner / programming platforms and be confident in taking on new challenges.

Responsibilities :

• Diagnose and repair standard and complex automotive vehicle systems.
• Communicate with an advisor and possibly customer on needed vehicle repairs.
• Clock in and out of assigned jobs on digital tablet device
• Create an estimate of needed parts and service for advisor to sell to client.
• Supply the self-motivation and desire to grow and train as a lead technician and team member.

Education Requirements :

High school diploma or GED plus completion of Vocational Training before hire. Example- UTI, DMACC

Experience Requirements :

Must have 5+ years of diagnostic experience as an Automotive Technician. 3+ years’ experience with European and / or Asian brands.

Physical Requirements :

The physical demands described here represent the minimum requirements that must be met by any applicant to successfully perform this job’s essential functions.

While performing the duties of this job, the Automotive Technician must :

• Occasionally lift and / or move over 100 pounds.
• Be able to work with tools on vehicles raised above their head.
• Work in tight spaces as dictated by the vehicle's needed repair.
• Have the needed skills to use hand-tools efficiently
• Walk / stand for most of the workday.
• Drive manual transmission vehicles.
• Keep a brisk work pace in a high-volume environment.
• Efficiently navigate a computer.

Additional Requirements :

• Must be able to study and complete additional ASE testing, if not already certified.
• Aptitude for learning additional skills and processes in the classroom and in the shop.
• Must have worked or be employed in a dealership setting and are manufacturer-trained / certified in a minimum of one brand.
• Must be adaptable, reliable, and responsible.
• Dependable, strong work ethic.
• Strong organization and communication skills.
• Must provide an adequate set of personal tools.
• Must be fluent in Shop Management System operation and have excellent communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license with dependable transportation to and from work.
• Insurable : Our insurance requires a clean driving record for employment and will conduct a background check before hiring.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and agree to future drug testing as requested.

• We love to see a military service history- bonus if that is you!
• It is a MAJOR bonus if you are a multi-franchise tech. As in you have worked in multiple dealer lines.
