About The Position
Job Title : Registered Nurse Job Specialty : Telemetry - Cardiac Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Night Shift, 3x12-Hour (18 : 45 - 07 : 15) Guaranteed Hours : Not specified Experience : Minimum 2 years License : Active license required prior to start Certifications : ACLS, BCLS, NIH Must-Have : IV Start and Telemetry skills- Experience with cardiac patients, drips, and post-procedure care Job Description : This is a fast-paced unit where nurses can expect to manage a patient ratio of 1 : 5-6, fluctuating based on unit needs.
- Required to be comfortable taking on 6 patients, especially during surges.- Experience with stable pre / post care for pacemakers, ICDs, and cardiac catheterization required.
- Duties include the management of cardiac and stroke patients, including cardiac interventions without sheaths.- Ability to run multiple drips such as Cardizem, Dopamine, and Amiodarone.
- Unit houses COVID-positive patients; experience with opti-flow and Bipap equipment needed.- Must be able to titrate Cardizem drips and handle high patient turnover.
- Nurses will float within the hospital based on census and skills as needed.- Self-scheduling with oversight to maintain balance and every other weekend, along with specific weekday working requirements.
- Orientation involves 36 hours and includes passing an EKG test specific to the telemetry specialty.- Scrub colors are navy blue or white, or a combination of both.
Jackets must match uniforms.
