Job Details
- A large hospital in Arizona is looking for experienced ER / Emergency Room RNs for a travel assignment.
- Float Policy : Can be float between St. Joseph's Main, St. Joseph's Westgate, and the 2 Free Standing ERs in Litchfield Park & Glendale.
- Unit : ED / Trauma
- beds : Acute - 36 and Subacute - 54.
- Trauma bays - 6 (no travelers)
- Charge Nurse : 2 Charge RNs - will task or have light patient load.
- Nurse Aides : 4-PCTs for sitters.
- Hospitalist or Intensivists in house : Minimum of 2 MDs or as many as 8. Midlevels also utilized.
- IV Team : Core RNs are US trained.
- RT 24 / 7 : Yes
- Pharmacy 24 / 7 : Yes, Pharmacist in ER 10hrs / day
- Common diagnosis / Types of patients : Trauma, Burns and Peds transferred out. CP Center, Spinal Cord TBIN certification.
88,000 patients per year, 250-300 per day.
Additional Notes : 30-40 psych holds.
Job Requirements
- The right candidate will have 2 years of experience, hold an active BLS, ACLS, PALS and TNCC.
- Also must have an active AZ license or compact.
- Required Certs : BLS, ACLS, PALS
- Preferred Certs : TNCC and ATCN
- ENPC not allowed to replace PALS Cert
- Ratios : 1 : 4 ratio
- Scrub Color : Navy
- Vents : Managed by RT
- 2 years ER experience.
Schedule Information
- Shifts : 7a-7p, 7p-7a, 11a-11p, 1p-1a
- Weekend Requirement : 4 weekend shifts per month, at unit discretion
- 12 hour days, 4 total weekend shifts per 4 weeks, 2 out of 3 major holidays
Unit Specific Information
- Tele : Phillips monitors, must be able to read strips
- EMR : Cerner
- ED does Foley catheter insertion but does port-a-cath insertion instead of central line dressing change
- Floating : Float within ER
