BEPC is seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Writer to join our dynamic team, supporting a large-scale project for a government agency.

Pay rate : $50-$65 / hr

BEPC is seeking an experienced Technical Writer to join our team for a critical project with a government agency. In this role, you will be responsible for developing comprehensive documentation for complex relational database applications, ensuring users have clear and accessible resources.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, gathering feedback and creating end-user guides, tutorials, and manuals to support the Texas Air Emissions Repository (TexAER) database.

Position Overview : As a Technical Writer, you will produce detailed technical documentation that supports both technical and non-technical users of the TexAER system.

Your work will involve developing tutorials, user guides, troubleshooting manuals, and even video tutorials, ensuring all materials meet established industry standards.

You will work closely with internal teams to gather feedback and ensure the accuracy and relevance of all documentation.

Key Responsibilities :

• Collaborate with technical teams to create detailed end-user documentation for the TexAER database.
• Develop and produce technical documents, including tutorials, user guides, and troubleshooting manuals, using visualizations where appropriate.
• Gather and incorporate staff feedback into documentation revisions, ensuring materials are accurate and meet user needs.
• Produce video tutorials that meet TCEQ , DIR , and W3C standards and specifications.
• Provide technical support and testing in a team-oriented environment, communicating effectively with users of all technical levels.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

• 8+ years of experience developing technical documentation for complex relational database applications, including web page user interface design.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical users, both written and verbally.
• 5+ years of experience analyzing and interpreting data, preparing technical documents, and understanding the limitations and capabilities of computer systems.

This is a remote position , allowing flexibility for candidates within the state of Texas .

Work Hours and Location :

• The position is remote , with core working hours from Monday to Friday, 8 : 00 AM to 5 : 00 PM . Some weekend or evening work may be required depending on project needs.
• Occasional travel may be required with pre-approved expenses covered per State of Texas rules.
