Accountant

Commercial and residential property management, lending, and real estate sales company looking for strong accounting individual to join our team.

Candidate will have a positive attitude focused on growing the company and comprehensive knowledge of accounting.

Responsibilities :

Responsible for the management of the accounting and finance needs of the company including company books and oversight and management of all client trust accounts / books.

• Oversee and back up day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping and preparation of routine accounting statements for approximately 100 client accounts.
• Manage accounting operations and ensure timely delivery and that there is a backup process in place for every critical operation.
• Assist in the creation of new accounting policies and maintain existing policies.
• Monitor emerging technology to determine ways to automate the accounting process without sacrificing accuracy and accountability.
• Responsible for managing :
• Deposits
• Accounts payable
• General ledger; data entry
• Budgets
• Monthly financial statements including P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow and other required reports
• Year-end 1099s
• Annual year-end tax preparation for CPA
• Basic understanding how to interpret tax returns
• Making accurate journal entries without direction
• Assist with general office management
• Setting up new company books
• Bidding Qualifications :
• Accounting degree or minimum of 3-5 years accounting experience
• Proficient knowledge of QuickBooks Desktop accounting software
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Exceptional leadership abilities
