MANAGER PHARMACY OPERATIONS - ORLANDO HEALTH

Position Summary :

Orlando Health is a 3,200-bed system that includes 15 wholly-owned hospitals and emergency departments; rehabilitation services, cancer institutes, heart institutes, imaging and laboratory services, wound care centers, physician offices for adults and pediatrics, skilled nursing facilities, an in-patient behavioral health facility, home healthcare services in partnership with LHC Group, and urgent care centers in partnership with CareSpot Urgent Care.

Nearly 4,200 physicians, representing more than 80 medical specialties and subspecialties have privileges across the Orlando Health system, which employs nearly 22,000 team members.

Areas of clinical excellence are orthopedics, heart and vascular, cancer care, neurosciences, surgery, pediatric specialties, neonatology, womens health and trauma.

Coordinates activities of team members providing pharmacy services under the direction of the Director of Pharmacy Services

Responsibilities : Essential Functions

Coordinates development and implementation of systems and policies and procedures for effective pharmacy services in conjunction

with other members of the Pharmacy team.

Participates in the Process Improvement and Quality Management programs and assures compliance of assigned areas of

responsibility.

Meets regularly with the management team to plan, revise or implement new services, and / or policies and procedures.

Meets regularly with team members to share information, provide guidance and review and resolve issues.

Assures compliance with Safety and Infection Control practices as well as meeting legal requirements within areas designated.

Coordinates scheduling and supervision of team members as appropriate to achieve operational goals.

Interviews prospective team members with other members of team and participates in their selection.

Participates in all personnel management issues involving team members.

Coordinates written performance evaluations for pharmacist and technician team members and reviews each evaluation with the

team members within the specified period.

Is responsible for pharmacy operations in the absence of the Director of Pharmacy Services.

Demonstrates leadership skills in both verbal and nonverbal communication behaviors.

Manage technology and automation to allow for optimum resources

Maintains current knowledge in Pharmacy and management issues by attending seminars, reading journals, etc.

Manages various human resources functions including hiring, work assignments, coaching plans, and performance counseling.

Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state

and local standards.

Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.

Qualifications : Education / Training

Education / Training

Pharmacy degree (Bachelor of Science, Pharm.D.) is required.

Licensure / Certification

Must be licensed as a pharmacist by the Florida Board of Pharmacy or must obtain licensure within 4 months of hire. Once obtained,license must be maintained as active.

Experience

Must meet one of the following :

Two (2) years of hospital pharmacy practice experience with one (1) year of supervisory experience.

Two (2) years completion of ASHP-accredited residency with one (1) year of supervisory experience
