Overview :
As a Senior Business Development Executive, your primary role is to build pipeline and win new high quality work that helps us grow VGV.
You will need to build awareness of VGV's capabilities, build strong professional networks, create top of funnel pipeline, and consistently convert leads to long-lasting and mutually beneficial consulting relationships.
With a priority focus on developing new business, you will be expected to understand the needs of the market and target clients, research and develop strategies to source new opportunities, identify key contacts that match our target ICPs, perform outreach to initiate conversations, build and nurture relationships with target customers, engage with clients face to face (travel is required), and lead the end-to-end sales process.
To be successful, you must have excellent abilities to break down client problems (challenger sales process) and navigate client organizations to ensure VGV has a leading position to win any opportunity we are pursuing.
You must have excellent critical thinking skills and an ability to investigate and clearly communicate the opportunity, the client's product business case, the needs and pain points of their technology landscape, the goals and strategy for the pursuit, and any other important nuance that will enable your pursuit team members to effectively craft a winning proposal.
You must be both a hunter and self-starter as well as a team player at heart.
Responsibilities :
- Develop strategies for identifying high potential companies and leads that align with VGV's commercial strategy
- Effectively identify and engage with potential clients and decision makers to open new relationships that will drive ideal consulting engagements
- Develop and implement organized, consistent, and well executed outbound strategies to penetrate new markets and companies utilizing various channels, including cold outreach, content, networking events, and industry conferences to establish connections with decision-makers.
- Employ a challenger sales process motion to break down client problems, while effectively navigating and meaningfully connecting with the key decision makers within your target companies who have sway over the final partner decision.
- Lead the end-to-end sales process, coordinating both internal and client teams to facilitate a decision to engage VGV. Deliver clear communication so that the team is aligned, understands the opportunity and challenges, and is able to create an effective win story to obtain significant new business.
- Effectively document and share the nature and details of each opportunity to serve as the expert source of knowledge in order to efficiently support the pursuit team in the proposal development process.
- Efficiently maintain long-term friendly and value-add relationships with prospects, even when there is no active opportunity or program while also having good discernment as to where to invest your time.
- Become a subject matter expert on all of VGV's offerings and be able to communicate their value proposition effectively and win new business for all of VGV's disciplines and capabilities.
- Be rigorous and highly organized; keep up-to-date notes in a CRM and via other essential tools such that other parts of the business can quickly get up to speed during handoffs or technical discovery discussions.
- Manage the negotiation and contract process, with support of VGV's operations and legal teams, to efficiently and effectively close deals.
- Stay on top of industry trends and standards to better understand and connect with clients and have meaningful conversations about their pains and needs..
- Occasional travel, which includes attending conferences, team meetings, and meeting with prospective clients.
Success Metrics :
- Achievement of sales quota and target.
- Qualifying potential deals and clients to ensure we are going after real opportunities.
- Successful management of the sales pipeline and delivery of new business engagements.
Qualifications :
- 7+ years of proven experience in outbound sales and business development.
- Strong network (LinkedIn + personal network), social selling skills, and sales experience.
- Proven track record of sourcing and winning net new business.
- Excellent critical thinking and communication skills, with strong ability to build relationships and story-tell.
- Contract and service negotiation, computer literacy, and CRM competency.
- Experience working with and selling to technology leaders who make decisions on team, technology, and partner choices.
- Ability to stay in tune with the important conversations and topics happening within your target accounts.
- Ability to understand client responsibilities at a technical level and condense these down to important key points.
- Experience working in a CRM and maintaining good documentation.
- Experience working closely with internal technical teams to understand and scope projects.
- Looking for hungry, motivated individuals who can operate autonomously and within a team-based pursuit environment.
Preferred qualifications / Nice to have :
- Working experience with hyperscalers (Google Cloud, AWS, Azure).
- Literacy around front end UX development platforms - Flutter, React, etc.
