Job Title : Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

Job Summary : We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team in Cumberland, RI for the 2024-2025 school year.
As an essential member of our special education services, the SLP will assess, diagnose, treat, and help prevent communication and swallowing disorders in students.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pediatric speech therapy and a commitment to supporting the educational and developmental needs of children in our community.
Responsibilities :
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations to diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that include measurable goals, progress monitoring, and evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
- Provide direct therapy services to students in individual and group settings, focusing on improving communication skills, articulation, language development, and pragmatic language.
- Collaborate effectively with educators, parents, and other professionals to integrate therapy goals into the educational setting and ensure comprehensive support for students.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, treatment plans, and evaluations in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Participate actively in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, contributing expertise to the development of educational plans and accommodations.
- Stay informed about current research, best practices, and developments in the field of speech-language pathology.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines governing special education and speech therapy services.
Qualifications :
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders.
- ASHA certification (CCC-SLP) and Rhode Island state licensure or eligibility for licensure.
- Previous experience working in a school setting or with pediatric populations preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education.
