One year of experience in a supervisory capacity is preferred. Experience in a Community Mental Health setting is also preferred.
License : LMSW, LLP, or LPC licensure from the State of Michigan Certifications : Must obtain the Children's Mental Health Professional (CMHP) credential within 120 days of hire Must-Have : - Master’s Degree in social work, psychology, or counseling - Valid driver's license and favorable driving record - Excellent communication, writing, and public presentation skills - Excellent clinical assessment, triage, and treatment skills - Ability to handle crisis situations professionally - Nonjudgmental approach reflecting cultural competency Job Description : The Children's Crisis Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all administrative and clinical functions of the Children's Crisis Screening program.
This program operates twenty-four-seven, screening children for psychiatric hospitalization throughout the area. Regular working hours are Monday through Friday, 9 : 00 AM to 5 : 00 PM;
however, additional hours may be necessary depending on the program's needs. The supervisor must also be available by phone around the clock, including weekends and holidays, to provide supervision to on-call staff.
Responsibilities : - Provide standard and clinical supervision to staff using various treatment methodologies. - Manage staff and departmental functions, including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and handling complaints and grievances.
- Oversee all treatment records and reports related to client services. - Conduct and supervise case consultations with staff.
- Maintain schedules to ensure service delivery timeliness and coverage. - Assess community needs, assign priorities, and direct services accordingly.
- Collaborate with interdepartmental groups to ensure consistent program administration. - Coordinate appeals processes (Second Opinion) with on-call crisis psychiatrists.
- Foster positive relationships with partner agencies, hospitals, and treatment providers. - Complete required documentation, referrals, audits, and other paperwork.
- Participate in Total Quality Management initiatives and committee meetings. - Provide consistent feedback and conduct regular staff meetings.
- Participate in community needs assessments and consult with local organizations. - Act as a liaison and participate in agency committees.
- Complete 25 hours of training annually. - Work with the Program Director and finance to ensure funding and budgeting compliance.
- Additional duties as necessary or requested.
