Critical Care Cardiologist Opening with T he Medical College of Wisconsin

The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) is recruiting a Critical Care Cardiologist to care for patients with complex cardiovascular disease patients admitted to cardiac intensive care unit.

The position will have a clinical focus within our Academic Practice at Froedtert and Medical College of Wisconsin (FMCW).

The ideal candidate will be a well-rounded clinical cardiologist with good communication skills wanting to be part of a thriving and very collaborative academic practice at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW).

Areas of responsibility will include, but not be limited to a combination of inpatient, outpatient care and imaging with ample opportunity for teaching and research.

Candidate should be :

• Fellowship trained and board certified or eligible in Cardiology, Critical Care and Echocardiography.
• Well-rounded and collaborative Clinical Cardiologist
• Able to function independently in all aspects of Cardiology and Critical Care Medicine.
• Able to lead multi-disciplinary rounds for critically ill patients in cardiac intensive care.
• Comfortable in managing pre- and post-operative care, heart transplant, Ventricular Assist Devices (VAD), acute mechanical circulatory support (ECMO), Impella, intra-aortic balloon pumps and Cardiogenic shock.
• Competent in managing / operating bedside hemodynamic operating systems, bedside echocardiography including transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography.
• Able to manage airway including intubation, ventilator management, perform various procedures such as central line placement, arterial line placement, thoracentesis, paracentesis, lumbar puncture, bronchoscopy, pulmonary artery
• Participate in teaching in fellows, residents and APPs
• Candidate will have active role in the cardiology fellowship training program overseeing the educational activities related to critical care cardiology.
